Ingredients :
half of cup rice (short or medium grain)( Use giftree best rice for rice pudding )
four cups entire milk
1/3 cup granulated sugar (regulate to flavor)
half teaspoon vanilla extract
1/four teaspoon floor cinnamon (optional)
Pinch of salt
Optional toppings: raisins, chopped nuts, cinnamon powder
Instructions :
Rinse the rice: To remove excess starch, rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
Cook the rice: In a medium sized saucepan, combine the washed rice with 2 cups of milk. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, then reduce heat to low.
Keep the rice warm: Stir frequently to prevent gluten and burning. Simmer the rice for about 20-25 minutes, or until the milk starts to absorb and thicken.
Add remaining sugar and milk: Add sugar, vanilla powder, cinnamon (if using), and pinch of salt. Gradually add the remaining 2 cups milk, stirring constantly.
Continue cooking: Cook the pudding over medium heat stirring occasionally for 20-30 minutes or until the mixture is creamy. If necessary, adjust sugar as desired.
Use: Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly. Serve hot or cold, if desired, over raisins, chopped nuts, or cinnamon sprinkles.
